What are the requirements to register?contact us and fill the registration form we admit childre throughout the year provided there are seats available.

How can I apply for the stay-at-home parent subsidy?Alberta Government Child Care Subsidy: The Alberta Government is committed to early childhood education and provides grants for some families, dependent on income. Your family could qualify for up to $100.00 monthly to educate your Playschool aged children.

Does my child have to be potty trained?Yes, children need to be fully toilet trained in order to attend the preschool.

What do I need to pack in my child's bag for school?Your child will need a pair of indoor shoes, (that are suitable for the gym & active movement experiences!), which will remain at school for the year! Please send a water bottle, and a small nutritious, NUT FREE snack to school with your child every day! (ALL raw fruits & vegetables/hot dogs etc. need to be cut into small, bite sized pieces &/or fully prepared before coming to school!) * No nut products will be permitted in the classroom! * All children must come to school with outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather, as we will be going outside whenever possible! Please ensure that children are wearing clothing that you’re okay with them potentially getting dirty, as we will be doing art/craft projects etc. daily!

Can I send someone else pick up my child if I can't?Your child may be picked up by a pre-authorized adult listed on your child’s registration form. Please notify us if you would like to make changes

Do I have to volunteer?You do not have to, but it is appreciated if you can help with some activities, concerts or field trips.

What is the policy for sick leave?Alberta Health states: “A child is considered ill, when they exhibit any of the following signs or symptoms: vomiting, fever, diarrhea, or a new unexplained rash or cough. A child can also be considered ill if they require greater care and attention that cannot be provided without compromising the care of the other children”. Creative Discoveries Preschool’s policy is: If your child exhibits any of the following signs or symptoms: Vomiting Fever Diarrhea New Cough or cough that is disruptive to the child’s participation Unexplained rash Colored mucous (Constant runny nose with thick coloured discharge) Please keep your child home when/if they have any of the symptoms so we are not passing the illness to other children and families. Your childMUSTbe symptom free for 24 hoursbefore returning to class! Creative Discoveries Preschool requires that a parent/guardian call the classroom at (403)686-3322to inform the staff that their child will be absent due to illness
